We have had access to the local park lake near us but due to the miss management of the rights by the club in charge and their inabillity to either care about the lake or the idiots who fish it this is to be withdrawn at the end of the month. This is a real shame as there are some beutiful fish in there but due to the local " catch at all cost" and the "I'm off fishing but I don't give a dam" brigade the council have been lobbied to cance the clubs rights at the end of the current season and ban fishing in the park again.

These TW4T5 have left the park a total mess cans everywhere, old line just left on the bank, abused the general public/park Friends and generaly abused everything they could, Flaunted the "rules" that were never inforced by the club and been responsible for near fatalities to the general public using the park and killing/ injuring loads of the native wildlife in the park( and pets being walked in the park too.

One poor kid was nearly decapitated by line tied between two trees at either side of the path. I have personally rescued two black swans with line/hooks entangling them, a great tit that was caught in discarded line and had my own dog have her mouth cut by discarded meat cans then today I found a Graylag goose that had been drowned by having a pike plug caught in its beak and foot.

I have said for a long time that if the idiots didn't stop abusing the lake then this would happen and I have been the "reporter" of a lot of the miss use of the lake. Now it seems the idiot brigade, I can't and won't call them anglers, have ruined it for the rest of us. I'm sorry to have lost the ability to fish the lake but for the sake of the people who use the lake for walking dogs, playing football and feeding the ducks etc and even more so the sake of the wildlife them I am some what relieved that this has happened.

What would have happened if the anti-angling brigade had got hold of this I don't know but the fallout would have been catastropic for angling in the area, its just the sort of bad publicity we can all do without.

So be warned look after your lakes keep the idiots away and lets hope that we don't get more local lakes closed due to the actions of these idiots.

Sorry about the over use of the word "Idiots" but i have to be reasonable in my use of language as I know minors use these forums and IF I called the exactly what I think of them then my post would be withdrawn and I would be banned!!

So if anyone knows of a lake close to Doncaster that will allow evening fishing at a reasonable cost please let me know.

i've been using a 2oz inline square pear lead for just about all of my fishing these past few years, the only time i ever change is when i fish a zig rig, in which case i use a similar size pear shaped bomb, the 2oz inline square pears have worked for me in silt, on gravel, clay and in running water
